July 19, 2005, MOVE Press Release on the Continued Incarceration of the MOVE 9
August 8, 2005, is the 27th anniversary of the unjust imprisonment of nine (!) MOVE members for the alleged killing of one man, Police Officer James Ramp. 27 years after the event, they continue to languish in prison, with the exception of Merle Africa, who died in prison. The protest activities being organized for Monday, August 8, are the subject of the July 19, 2005, MOVE Press Release. More on the case of the MOVE 9 can be learned from Margot Harry's excellent book "Attention MOVE! This Is America!", Chicago, Banner Press 1987, and from the new DVD documentary on MOVE narrated by historian Howard Zinn.
