Murder at Midnight

December 20, 2005. This is an e-mail I wrote to California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger just a little more than nine hours before the execution of Stanley Tookie Williams. I think this form of feedback from ordinary citizens all across the world to the powerful is important. In my view, it isn't about "speaking truth to power." It is about showing them our contempt.
